Maruti Suzuki, who continued to lead the sales chart, posted the highest revenue for the second consecutive month.
The list of the best-selling cars in India for the month of September 2020 has been released. Indian automaker Maruti Suzuki absolutely dominated in terms of sales with the top six cars on the list owned by the company.
We offer you a list of the 10 best-selling cars from September 2020:
1. Maruti Suzuki Swift
The third-generation Swift hatchback saw sales of 22,643 units as of September 2020, which is a massive 75% growth from last year’s 12,934 units. The Swift also maintains its top spot relative to August figures.
2. Maruti Suzuki Baleno
Climbing several ranks from sixth position in August 2020, the Baleno sedan recorded 19,433 units in sales the previous month. This represents 75% of sales for September 2019 where it sold 11,420 units.
3. Maruti Suzuki Alto
The Maruti Suzuki Alto generated 18,246 units last month and recorded a growth of 21% from 15,079 units in September 2019. However, it fell to a position in terms of ranking despite a profit recorded during its sale.
4. Maruti Suzuki WagonR
The Maruti Suzuki WagonR fell one spot from 13,770 unit sales in August 2020, selling 17,581 units. However, this is still a 50% improvement over last year’s numbers.
5. Maruti Suzuki Dzire
The compact sedan recorded 13,988 units in sales and saw a monthly increase. The car, which had managed to sell 15,662 sales in September 2019, ended in an 11% drop this year.
6. Hyundai Creta
One of the best-selling SUVs in the Indian market, the Hyundai Creta ranks sixth in terms of best-selling cars in India and recorded a massive 82% jump with sales of 12,325 units last month. As of September 2019, it had only managed to sell 6,641 units.
Maruti Suzuki Eeco and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga respectively take seventh and ninth position on the list. While Eeco managed to sell 11,220 units and recorded a 13 percent increase over last year’s 9,949 units, Ertiga stands with a sale of 9,982 units, still an increase of 59 percent.
Eeco moved up from 10th position last month compared to Ertiga who retained their ninth position in the list.
7. Hyundai Grand i10
The Hyundai Grand i10 remains in the same eight positions with a sale of 10,385 units. This is also an increase of 11% from last year.
